ACTION OF FAVORS – THANKSGIVING – IT IS WONDERFUL

It is wonderful, Sir,

to have perfect arms when it has as much mutilated,

to have perfect eyes when it has as much without light,

my voice that sings when as much silent;

my hands that work when as much beg;

to come back toward house when as much do not have for where to go.

It is wonderful, Sir,

to love, to live, to smile, to dream when it has as much that cry, hate,

they turn over in nightmares; they die before being born.

It is wonderful, Sir,

to have a God to believe,

when it has as much that do not have the consolation of a belief.

It is wonderful, God,

over all,

to have so little to ask for,

as much to offer and to be thankful.

AÇÃO DE GRAÇAS – É MARAVILHOSO…

            É maravilhoso, Senhor,

ter braços perfeitos

quando há tantos mutilados,

ter olhos perfeitos

quando há tantos sem luz,

minha voz que canta

quando tantas emudeceram;

minhas mãos que trabalham

quando tantas mendigam;

voltar para casa

quando tantos não têm para onde ir.

         É maravilhoso, Senhor,

amar, viver, sorrir, sonhar

quando há tantos que choram, odeiam,

revolvem-se em pesadelos,

morrem antes de nascer.

         É maravilhoso, Senhor,

ter um Deus para crer

quando há tantos que não têm

o consolo de uma crença.

         É maravilhoso, Senhor,

sobretudo,

ter tão pouco a pedir,

tanto a oferecer

e a agradecer.
