EXXXTÓRIAXXX DO BADUZINHO ZÉ JULINHO

N. 6: Verídica/True– From last to 1st. Champion Turn – Awesome! Lie, Terta? /True!

Still in Madureira, Baduzinho had experienced the first lessons of the activity of coach (as those responsible for the preparation of teams were called, later, in 1993, with Law 8650 the function was renamed Professional Football Coach), in Vila 516 da Carolina Machado, that of Bicho do Seo Natal, with the team he helped to found,  Lusitano (green shirt, collars and red sleeve bars like the Portugal shirt), even younger than some, exercised natural leadership and commanded the rules of the little club and the things of the team.

Seo Julio, the Father, a paratrooper at the beginning of his career, was familiar with sports, like almost all military personnel, thanks to ESEFEX (Army School of Physical Education), created together with EEFD/UB by Law in 1940. He played Basketball, Soccer (including in the Army Team, Castilho’s reserve, this one of Flu and the National Team, as Baduzinho already said in a previous post) and Indoor Soccer. He ran long distances, too. Once, off work he watched his son hit the ball on the wall where he had painted a goal – Baduzinho was about 4 or 5 years old, a good age to learn everything, a clean cerebellum – and when they were going to enter home, the penultimate on the left side before the wall with the painted goalposts, he put his hand on Baduzinho’s shoulder and said:  Son, also kick with your left leg until it is good, if you are good at kicking with your right you will be a better player if you also know how to use your left. Said and done, lesson learned. I also practiced lettering, sometimes the stride is not right with the ball. Later he taught his young players to pass, control and kick with both legs, one at a time, as Garrincha said when asked how to kick with both legs. Oh, and he valued the wall in training.

At Imperial, playing Indoor Soccer (Futsal later) he learned a lot from Seo Altamiro, the first Coach he had, even though he was a goalkeeper (he was also used on the line sometimes – there was no goalkeeper as there is today). He learned his head up to drive, pass and kick (although some are more talented in this art), and to value the kick kick, widely used in the Hall, goal is ugly, but it is also worth it).

Once on the Island, going from Baduzinho to Julinho (except for the closest ones), he played for Cocotá, from there he went with Dó (God have him) to Olaria – by invitation, after a Friendly Match – and invited by Seo Otto Feige (an Austrian who everyone thought was German, who ran away with the Mother of War) to train the children of the Club in a Little School to be created. Director of Football ahead of his time, he created the Escolinhas in the Club, from 8 years old, 9, 10 and 11, many members had children at these ages.

He accepted the challenge, even before entering the college of physical education, and organized training in the evening, on the already lit field, twice a week. A big world of boys. Regardless of the quality, everyone trained, little by little the most outstanding began to form the Dente-de-Leite team that would later successfully represent Cocotá in the Carioca Championships and in the games televised by Tupi, an important competition created by Ivo Gorgulho. It gave Prizes to the Man of the Match. Goalkeeper Fernandes won a bicycle!

From this work came João Carlos Costa (Botafogo), Hudson (Botafogo) – Filho do Grande Hudinho, Fernandes (Flamengo), Affonso (Flamengo) and many others. Some stayed and went up in Category, the next being the Infanto-Juvenil, in 72 and 73, then to the Juvenile and the Main Team. João Carlos, in addition to playing for Botafogo, did Physical Education and became a Football Coach, working with Julinho at Flamengo and the Youth Team, then directing Zico’s Flamengo, and Zico at Kashima Antlers in Japan. Champion! Hudson has a highly regarded school on the Island.

The group grew together, adding to it some guests from other clubs until the 1973 Children’s and Youth Championship, State Competition, with all the clubs of large, medium and small investments, and some of the FERJ D.A., such as Cocotá and Satellite.

Competition of those born in 1956, if memory does not betray. Despite the effort of the players, the support of the fans and the Board, the Team did not develop good football in the initial shift, something was missing, maybe brain or soul, maybe both, experience who knows… and the team came in last place in the first round. Never be discouraged, Baduzinho said to the Athletes, let’s work and fight harder. Between shifts, an associate approached the Coach saying that he knew a player from outside the Island who had been dismissed by Flamengo, a midfielder, named Nelson who wanted to play. Combining hunger with the desire to eat, Seo Otto arranged transportation for the new player (he owned a tire shop and relatively wealthy, a good man, visionary (he implemented in the Club in the early 1970s Chess, Table Tennis, Theater, Hypnosis, Psychologist, Internal Olympiads and much more).

First training session before the Return starts, everyone suspicious, who will be this only one registered for the second round? He plays well, he doesn’t… is it good or bad… Who will he take his place in? First half in the reserve team, Nelson made the sun shine at night, improving the light of the Agostinho Stadium. In the second part of the collective training, already in the starting lineup, with the number 10 on his back, he made the team play like never before, a Maestro, he pointed here, there, received, touched, encouraged, ran, seemed to be everywhere, and played very well, gave assists and scored goals. Baduzinho, I say: Julinho, to this day he doesn’t know why he was dismissed from a Club, if it was… or it was another reason, but he saw his team, grow, start winning, bring the Torcida along (led by Dulce Rosalina do Cocotá, Dorinha), win the second round and dispute the title with the champion of the first, Satellite, who would say: among the clubs of great investment, 2 (two) from D.A. competing in the Final.

It was cocotá! Champion!!

Lucky for the Coach who was born on Friday, April 13, in 1951, Carioca Children’s Champion in 1973, and had his 22-year-old Coach named Coach of the Year by D.A. With Diploma and all!

Nelson deserved it, with all due respect! Baduzinho – Julinho never tires of thanking Nelson for the transformation that took place, the Squad that surpassed itself and God for the achievement!

Baduzinho has never seen this: last in the first round, winner of the second round and Champion!

P.S. Congratulations Junira e David: Birthday anniversary! 47 years. Bodas de Jaspe
