Exxxstory 4: Verídica – Courage. Baduzinho saw death up close – child’s play

It talks about the importance of children’s games in the formation of the individual’s personality and character, because when playing with simple and free rules, the essence is manifested, good or bad things emerge that are carried based on DNA and culture until that moment. The experience itself, the lessons in practice and the good guidance of the Game Friends teach! Or not!

Let the children be educated and adults will not need to be punished.

Later, the child in school, in Physical Education classes, which should be compulsory and given by Specialized Teachers from Pre-School, not only physical qualities are perfected, but also mental and moral qualities. In a small game or contest… One can perceive, notice a good competitor, even a champion, or one with misconduct, who takes advantage of situations, illegally. The one who acts correctly is encouraged and the bad competitor is helped, often with the help of Psychologists found in the good Educandário. The physical educator himself, a born leader, has the power, through the leadership he exercises, to correct small flaws, which, once not adjusted, tend to grow exponentially, leading to crime.

In the village where Baduzinho lived there were adults of all backgrounds, Military, Delegates, Policemen, Engineers, Bakers and other Professionals who, in a way, influenced the education of their children and helped in the education of others. But nothing like life itself to teach…

It has already been commented on the importance of the Kite in the formation of children’s character, how it requires a series of qualities or indicates small defects. Crossing other kites, cutting or being cut, running after a flying kite looking at the skies without remembering holes and cars, grinding glass for wax on the tram line, amazingly: on the train track! There is no greater risk!!

There is, yes, flying a kite on the roofs of Asbestos. The twin brother of a great friend died when he fell from a great height from an asbestos roof in a garage (God have him, perhaps he has fulfilled his Mission on Earth, even if it is to warn everyone). Better luck had Baduzinho who liked to drop cafifa on the asbestos roof of the covered area of the backyard, outside the house, next to the open area. He courageously climbed the ladder that led to the attic next to the wall at the back of the house (a ladder that also served for the fleeing Bicheiros to jump over the wall into the vacant lot, escaping from the police) and, from the top, he happily released his toy. One day the kite went deep, disappeared behind the other roofs and got stuck. He stopped again and again in the hope of making the kite come loose and rise again (each kite was expensive or runs after a “Voada” if he won the dispute), he got distracted, walked backwards, the roof was gone, his body retreated quickly, head heavier, the last thing he heard was Baduzinho!! Neighbor Dona Isaura, Mother of Seo Basílio of house 10 and grandmother of Reinaldo, from her backyard saw everything. Then he shouted: Dona Jaïraaaaaa!

Dona Jaïra (with umlaut) ran, saw her eldest son fainting and bloodied, the ground cracked, grabbed him with both arms and lifted him up, ran the 1oo meters of the cobblestone village magically in zero seconds, luckily there was a crowd at the door of the village that took them to the Carlos Chagas Hospital (whom Baduzinho thanks to this day and his doctors). 3 cm in the neck, 15 cm of internal crack from top to base of skull. All possible precautions, until in the second or 3rd. day of the coma a Doctor prophesied that they could prepare the burial, the coffin. The Father, an Army soldier, transferred his son to the HCE (Central Army Hospital) in Triagem (also never forgotten in his prayers), until contrary to the prophecy, the possibilities, but according to the desire of God, quality of Medicine and the faith of parents, relatives and friends, because his mission had not yet been fulfilled,  He had a lot to know, to learn and to teach, to exchange experiences: he woke up 11 days after the event, in a room at the HCE, listening to the singing of birds from the mango trees in the courtyard and when he opened his eyes he came face to face with his parents and brothers present there! He never forgot!

Bad vase does not break, it only cracks, say some.

Some screws were loose in the head, others must have fallen, a new Baduzinho was born, born again, with the eternal mission of repaying the Divine kindness, of doing good!

Above we talked about the courage to climb on the roof, but nothing, nothing compared in terms of boldness than 6 months after the almost fatal accident, she herself, the neighbor Dona Isaura who lived in the backyard working, screamed again, Dona Jaïraaaaa, Baduzinho is flying a kite on the roof again! When the Mother saw her excited son flying a kite on the roof, it was her turn to fall backwards, Baduzinho who went down quickly and Dona Isaura who came in helped her right there, giving her sugar water. Baduzinho does not remember if he was “beaten a lot or a little” when she woke up, at that time mothers gave a good corrective spanking.

Thank you Lord, Dona Isaura, Mom (record holder of the 100 meters that saved her life): Baduzinho thanks you to this day, 65 years later.

He continued to fly a kite on the roof! It could be a goalkeeper!

P.S. – Many years later, Baduzinho was having dinner at a restaurant in Leblon with his Beloved and called his Mother who was at home. Around that time he heard an aiiii and a hollow sound. He asked his Sonia to pay the bill, took the car key and in the same zeros second he arrived at the apartment in Jardim Botânico, along with his neighbor Dona Dalvina and his daughter Adriana (Isaura was already in Heaven) arranging his trip to the HCE. She was standing and the head of the Femur broke (Familial Osteoporosis) and she fell (it was not the opposition).

It was good!

P.S. 2 – Crossing – the final act of combat with the objective of cutting the opponent’s kite, often taking it hanging by the tail as a trophy.

P.S. 3 – Cutting – the act of placing the line under or above the opponent’s line to bend it and cut it.

P.S. 4 – Cafifa – Parrot/Papagaio – Ray/Raia – Pandorga – Kite – nomenclatures for kite depending on the format and Region.

P.S. 5 – Flying kite – literal – when the combat is over, one or both kites fly free, ‘the wide, or even when by force of the wind or improper knot the kite is lost, released. In the figurative sense, a crazy person.

P.S. 6 – Dibicou (beaked – beaked) – act of skillfully trying the line to make the kite that has the beak on top, stand upside down, upside down towards the ground.

P.S. 7 – Stop – 1 – when the kite is in the air and suddenly, out of nowhere, the line breaks leaving the kite loose. 2 – When the kite gets stuck somewhere, roof, antenna, tree, wire (danger!!) and the owner pulls and releases the line with the intention of freeing the kite from prison.

P.S. 8 – Trying: – suggestion by PC Bocão who knows a lot about Kite and Ball: act of giving a strong pull on the line followed by a weaker one, giving the desired direction and taking better advantage of the wind.

P.S. 9 – I publicly thank and give credit for the definition of the terms pipeiros to my friend and Golden Pioneer Georgette Alonso Hortalb, our dear Jô, Teacher, Master and Doctor, specialized in Dance. Merci beaucoup.

P.S. 10 – Julio Leal: How they said: Are you afraid of it, is your line made of paper?

How is it in fact: Are you afraid, tabaréu? It’s reel line!

It is the famous chorus of a Brazilian popular song, commonly known as “Melô da Pipa”.

Main Letter (Excerpt):

“You’re scared of tabaréu, it’s a reel line/ You pull over, it stretches/ Take your hand off my kite that I want to release…”

Meaning and Context:

Tabaréu: Provocation for those who are naïve, fearful or hesitant.

Reel/Cerol Line: Elements of dispute; The wax is the cutting mixture, symbolizing courage in the battle of kites.

Themes: The song exalts street play, self-confidence and freedom.

P.P.S. – Remember why Baduzinho: Baduzinho because he was the grandson of José Pinto Lopes, nicknamed Badu in Madureira where he lived, worked as a Butcher, was a Soccer Player and Referee.

P.P.S. 2 – The S in Portuguese spoken in Rio de Janeiro has the sound of a hissed X. Xiiiiixxx (cheese)
