Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a striker. Described as the King of Football, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time. In 2000, he was voted Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics and was one of two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the Century award. That same year, Pelé was elected Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee. According to the IFFHS, Pelé is the second highest goalscorer in football history in official matches, scoring 765 goals in 812 matches, and a total of 1,283 goals in 1,363 games that include unofficial friendlies, a Guinness world record. During his career, he was for a period the highest paid athlete in the world. Who saw, saw, who did not see: sorry…
I saw him play, I saw him train at Flamengo and invited him and he agreed to speak to the Brazilian Under 17 Team at the World Cup in Italy in Termas de Montecatine!
We invited him for his kind Advice, we did not speak to anyone, the City was thermal, with many old people who sought health in those waters. Well, despite all the care at 6 o’clock in the morning there was already a crowd of people of all ages wanting to see the King, Football and charisma. Only one Pope saw with such Charisma and Humility! He got out of the car, he took care of as many as he could and walked into the Hotel to talk to our young players. In the photo you can see the brightness and attention of the eyes of those involved, including the Coach. As we started the hand on the leg of the player next to him, we could see his legs tremble with emotion. He talked about his career, his life, the important things for a winning team, he asked for a phone book, he asked. who was the strongest there, pointed out a gaucho player, who came close. He started tearing up some pages delicately and easily… closed the thick catalog and asked the young player to try to tear up the catalog, and despite the effort and some attempts, failed. He taught, then the King: a page corresponds to a player, even the best do not resist, not least because a team can not start u, game with less than 7 players. United, so synergistically reach a level above the strength of each one in isolation! Lovingly embraced each one wishing him good luck and left with his frank, unparalleled smile!
