COLOMBIA – EFA Y FAM LECTURE – 2022

Introduction

 The Principles depend on possession of the ball (DEFENSE-one who is not with possession; ATTACK – the one who has possession).

 Defender is the art of closing spaces;

 Attack is the art of using or opening spaces.

Basic Defense Principles

Delay

 Deliberate delay of the opposing counterattack by the delay in the forward pass (mainly the first, or the first passes);

 Attack on the man who took the ball;

 Provides time for recomposition, reorganization and compaction;

 From 60 to 70% of goals occur in counter-attacking plays (from 1 to 7 passes).

Equilibrium

 Search for numerical balance between opposing attackers and defenders;

 You must start by the most dangerous positions (central corridor of defense and cover line – the imaginary between the ball and the center of the goal line);

 Extender by other sectors.

Compaction

 Elimination of any advantage of the opponent, by having the ball, by bringing the players closer to each other in order, in addition to marking their own, cover and support the neighbors;

 Give preference to positioning in triangles (“double-lock”) or diamonds, avoiding playing online;

 Also called “concentration”.

Control

 Regardless of the method or type of marking adopted, as the opponent approaches the goal to defend the players must exercise strict control of their direct opponents, scoring tight, not letting play and disarming at the appropriate time;

 No opponent should be able to play freely, especially the ball, those who support him from close range and those inside the area or near it.

Discipline and determination

 Give the opponent the impression that he has an insurmountable mountain and a spoon as the only instrument;

 In defense, closed like a girl-lady!

The attack begins here!

 Not so much defend by the taste of defending, more because those who want to play need to take the ball from the opponent, prevent him from scoring goals; and for those who like to win, have possession of the ball to play and consign the goals and achieve the goal of victory, so important in football.

Basic Principles of Attack

 Having the ball is a condition to attack;

 Maintaining possession of the ball or making good attacks is essential to not need to avail yourself of the principles of defense;

 Football is known to blanket short, therefore balance, balance, organization and intelligence, in addition to courage, necessary.

 Attacking in football is almost instinctive action and a greater reason for taste and passion;

 There is much of intuition, but once the Principles are learned and worked on in a joint and coordinated manner, the results are constant, never fortuitous or casual.

APERTURE

 Faculty of a team use the entire width of the field in the 3 sectors, spreading at the time of playing (with or without the ball);

 Aims to force the opposing defense to contradict the principle of compaction, creating spaces to play and penetrate;

 Players on the sides should act as close as possible to the marginals.

MOBILITY

 It concerns a team’s ability to print offsets from its players;

 Of the greatest evolution since romantic football, because the fixed target is easier to be marked;

 Side, position, sector and rhythm exchanges confuse and make it difficult to mark. Move at speed in empty spaces or to open them.

PENETRATION

 Penetrating means entering, invading, finally transpose, introduce yourself;

 Found the spaces, or once created, remains penetration to finish or watch;

 The simple threat of penetration has the usefulness of unpacking the opponent’s defense, which needs to retreat to not receive the ball in the back, always dangerous.

IMPROVISATION

 Principle of freedom of action and inventiveness that allows the player to give, at once, a satisfactory response to a situation;

 When obedience to the above principles is vain, it remains to appeal to inspiration and intuition to stimulate creative activity; a feint, a dribble or pass in effect open spaces where there is not, being the beauty and charm of football.

Attack and Counterattack

 From 60 to 70 % of the goals scored, it is known, comes from counter-attacks (from 1 to 7 touches);

 Attack wide open, like the girls’ dames;

 Believe that even well-armed defenses can be beaten by talent, principles and creativity objectively and trusted.

Conclusion

 South Americans, in general, we Brazilians, in particular, so good in the past, so admired, practically equal to others, by imposing conditions required in training and games that limit confidence and creativity.

 As you will no longer have free fields and practices as before, you need an intelligent program that teaches the principles of the game and perfects the technique and general tactics.
