considering the commitments some days we trained at different time.
  • We controlled the weight of the
players on a daily basis, sometimes before and after session, even at the games.
The Club provided a biopedance scale very useful.

IV – CAMPING

  • It was important to camp at Port Elizabeth, despite the best opponent (Bay United) due to qualified for PSL Play Offs not available to play on July 9th as programmed.
  • The time of camping was a bit short and a lot of necessary compromises with sponsors
  • The temperature was too cold but we could realize every planned session.
  • All fields are very bad.
  • The Hotel Pine Lodge is very, very good.
  •  The Meals were not good in the beginning, good afterwards.
  • Doctor did not travel with the Team and no Physiorerapist as well.
  • Mr. Daniel, the Assistant Coach asked not to travel due to healthy problems, and we agreed. No Assistant Coach, then.

V – EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS

Regarding equipment, we were not ready travel, camp and play in such a weather conditions.

During the Camp some more equipment was brought and the conditions improved.

It is important to plan in advanced and to prepare a Code of Conduct and Dress to improve overall behaviour.

Having the players in full quality uniform and shoes is fundamental for the discipline and confidence of the group.

We will need more heart monitors (15), one with GPS.

It is recommended a “video library” and a “library” to allow the players read more, improving the general and the special culture.

Material necessary: big cones, light movable goal posts, sticks, new bibs, walk talkies, wall barriers, mats,

We must have at least 30 new balls, extra 10 for goalkeepers, five new for Match Trainings and Friendlys, and 2 or 3 new Official of the Competition to be played.

VI – DIET / NUTRICION

  • It must be recognized and understood the importance of light meals after practices beside re-hydration, and therefore need both quantity and quality in their diet. The fruits after practice, and snacks before go to bed could be a good boost (it was introduced at the Camp).
  • It is recommended get started the useof vitamin, also amino acid supplement (carbohydrate, creatine, amino acids, and vitamins are all recognized as important for young and professional modern athletes). It prevents any single case of flew, cold and viruses, very common
during the preparation and competition, besides improve performance and recovering.

VII – TECHNICAL STAFF

  • Technical Advisor – Eddie Lewis
  • Team Manager –
  • Head Coach – Julio Leal
  • Assistant Coach – Farouk Khan
  • Assistant Coach – Daniel
  • Fitness Coach – Japhet Borges
    (started on…)
  • Goalkeeper Coach – Shadrack Biemba
  • Technical Observer and Scout – Themba
  • Doctor – Ephraim
  • Masseur Therapist – Sarah
  • Physiotherapist – to be recommended
    by the Doctor
  • Equipment Manager – Junior
  • Equipment Manager – Sunny Boy
  • Driver – Jeff

The presence of the Fitness Trainer Japhet Borges was a boost in the quality of the Staff.

Now it is important to follow Head Coaches’ suggestion to be brought the Assistant Mr Farouk and the Spy Themba, people that I know and able to improve the Staff level.

 – We started to coordinate the Program, the Training Plan and the Team’s Preparation for the League as well as the Cup.

– A Match Training with the Youth Teams was played and very interesting, never before as told.

– The Philosophy and Methodology was introduced in Swallows since the very beginning and discussing every single topic with the Assistants, paying respect to the Club’s tradition, but at the mean time building the NEW SWALLOWS on the filed as well.

– At the beginning we are using to meet everyday to discuss the week program and daily one, and once a week, distributes the jobs, with every point being discussed and all members participating.

It is necessary at least one formal meeting per week with the Directors (recommended in the beginning of every week).

– The Staff showed very big commitment.

– All members are well qualified to their jobs.

STAFF OF THE MONTH – Junior

VIII – MEDICAL DEPARTAMENT

The Medical department plays an important role in the Club, preventing first, and curing whenever necessary.

In this very beginning it is compulsory to check the players up – urine, blood, heart, eyes, joints – specially the new comers, but not only.

Physical evaluation was made at Pretoria University, and the results were not very good, hard work is necessary.

It is recommended to check up before signing – Igor, for instance – coming from an injury. Started and now needs more 2 weeks’ physiotherapy. Doctor thinks he should go for treatment in Brazil.

Only one Physiotherapist, in fact Masseur Therapist Sarah, is available. One more is necessary to complete the Staff, one being at the Office, the other on the field, one travelling, and one staying with the remaining players.

Besides to bring urgently a Physiotherapist on board it necessary to form a clinic with basic stuffs and electrotherapy machines to work properly.

Also important to built a GYM, with basic machines at the Corinthians Club.

And start thinking to built a Centre of Excellence to test our players (seniors, juniors) Community.

It is very important to have a Medical Department well organized, attending all practices, acting preventively, working on recovering, and giving support if problem big happens Coaches and Players feel more confident.

A case of first aid should be always available during the practices. Whenever possible a defibrillator has to be bought.

Recommended anti-flew vaccine at the beginning of the season

Psychology support

IX – FIELDS, STADIUM AND TRAINING CENTER – CLUB´S OFFICES

TRAINING FIELDS

The training fields in use are not good enough. It is recommended to support the owners to treat them properly to put them in useful conditions. Players are complaining of calf pain, and the techniques can not be good in such conditions of pith. Even in Port Elizabeth all used fields were poor. Our training and game’s filed should be perfect as a snooker table.

There are no offices for Coach and Staff bringing difficulties to meet and work properly.

TRAINING CENTER

The new area the club intend to get is very beautiful and where the Club born and a good Training Centre for Swallows might be the final boost for big results in the near future. It is necessary to prepare the place and organize things as well organized Offices to the Coaches and Staff, a Gym, and etc.

STADIUM

Nice, the field is big and good. When I’ve been here 2 year ago, the best in the Country but I visited it and it not good any more due to be used for Rugby. The cut of the grass must be in according to the style of football we intend to implement. Recommended to cut in the middle of the week to come green at the moment of the game

Opponent dressing rooms are very small and not comfortable.

The bench of the home Team should behind the linesman, by itself a pressure on him, to prevent mistakes.

CLUB´S OFFICE

It is very good and beautiful.

I recommend to put a computer and a data show in the Coaches’ Office.

All Employees seemed to me very good and committed.

X – SUGESTIONS:

– Inter-Season before second round;

– Good pre-season next Year, in a Football’s Country;

– Meeting with the Coach at least once a week;

– To complete the Technical Staff urgent (Assistant Coach – Mr Farouk, and Physiotherapist – recommended by Dr Ephraim); Psychologist support – recommended by Dr Ephraim)

– Immediate reduction of the Squad keeping only good ones, superior level and opening spaces for new and talented players, in special positions.

– Start a program of supplementary diet to get maxim response of players (probable we will start on15th July;

– To buy a video camera to record games and practices.

-To buy 15 heart beating monitors
