It is important to have union and harmony among the Staff Members.

It is recommended to strength the Staff bringing to work the best and more qualified professionals in the Country and abroad, mainly with large experience, full time.

Then, naturally, they will be formed in the Orlando Pirates’ methodology, in a progression through out the Categories. The promotion to the next Category (Under 17 to Under 20, for instance), whenever necessary, will occur in a criteria’s’ way, lifting the one immediately bellow, and so successively.

In the future all members should be full-time professionals, well paid and able to afford the Plan of Training, Camps and Trips.

It is necessary co-ordination among Senior and Youth Teams, playing under same Philosophy and Methodology, a long term Program.

Let’s step up the future!

Let’s complete the group up to (28) players, (2) for each basic position and a third Keeper, fifth Full Back, fifth Central Back, Playmaker, fifth and sixth Scorer-Striker. One utility player.

Increase the average height of the Squad and Team.

Increase the average physical conditioning of the Squad and Team.

Decrease the average age of the Squad and Team.

Recommended:

Striker –

Play Maker –

Left Back –

Centre Back –

Right Back –

Goal Keeper –

Centre Defending Middle fielder

This numbers, are not definitive, being possible to change for more or less in according to several aspects, but mainly being in the Team the best possible players, of the Country and abroad, able to develop for the future and represent well Orlando Pirates.

To pay attention that the group of players must have at least one striker-scorer, one striker fast-dribbler-server-finish, one striker good header, one utility player-able to play in more than one position, one player able to score from penalties and free-kicks, one centre back able to play in both sides. To identify one or two good leaders.

The Team-Spine (goalkeeper, central backs, center half, playmaker, scorer) must be formed first, then the aisles, then the substitutes. It is important to maintain the Basic Starters that have performed in the past Season, and only the important substitutes.

Under 20: Necessary to re-enforce the U.20 and U.17.

Useful to include in the Squad two or three young talented players preparing for the future competitions (2 best U. 20 and the best U.17)

PROJECT III

TRAINING PLAN

PROJECT V

In according to the schedule prepared by the SAFA.

Basic Phase: June, July to August 2011;

Specific Phase: September to October 2011;

Polishment Phase:  November 2011;

Maintenance: December 2011;

Transitory Phase: December 24th 2011 to January 2nd 2012

Re-Start Basic: January 3rd 2012(to check the week days). In a superior level than                                       in June

PROJECT VI

CAMPING

To be done in the beginning of the season and after the break between First and Second Legs

Camping before Official Games and Decisive ones

It helps to develop the Squad friendship and group relation, besides rest and food control, observation of match alive and recorded, meetings, group dynamics and other activities.

Recommended to camp in Brazil (at least 10 days); or other Football superior level.

Recommended to camp two days in advanced before important games, and practice morning and afternoon whenever possible and recommended.

Recommended to camp in January 2012, before re-start season (about 10 days or two weeks, in a Country with high level football: Brazil, Spain, Argentine, France, Italia, Holland; or Japan, Korea and others to be discussed).

PROJECT VII

FRIENDLY MATCHES AND FRIENDLY TOURNAMENTS

It is compulsory to play some friendly matches and match trainings with the Main Team to introduce the new System of Play, as well as the Reserve Team, mainly the next day after the Official Games (to see them playing and give them rhythm).

Before the Official Competition starts should be played at least 5 international friendly games and 5 other friendly matches, and at least 1 international Tournament at home or abroad.

PROJECT VIII

TEAM 2012/2013

We must continue to observe and scout players through out the Country and abroad (eligible). Even during the competition 2011-2012 and after finishing it.

It is not the best way to keep going on tryalists, with very small possibility of result. Trials affect negatively the squad, wastes time, and if any contusion happens the Club is in trouble. Necessary even a check up on tryalists before they get in to practice.

PROJECT IX

TRAINING CENTRE AND STADIUM

It is very important for the development of a football program the facilities to practice. At least two or three football grounds, areas for warming up and special trainings (goalkeeping), dressing rooms, offices, conference room, modern and complete gym, a Physiotherapy Centre of Excellence swimming pool, courts, goalkeeper training, foot volley court, sand box, heading gallows, library, video library, laundry, store box. Being possible closed to the Club House and where most players use to leave. If conditions are there even the youth teams should use the facilities, or have their own Training Centre with lodge.

It is important as well the Club have is own Stadium to get maximum benefit out of the games played at home.

It is well known how difficult it is to build a Training Centre and facilities but big Clubs deserve to have it, all over the world. It makes things happen.

PROJECT X

YOUTH’S DEVELOPMENT

Well known South Africa has not paid enough attention to the youth development, as yet, probable the main reason to be 38st position in the Fifa’s RANKING and 4th in the Africa’s one. It is possible to achieve Top 20 in FIFA and Top 3 in Africa, soon.

To be a big Club the youth development program must be present, forming players with the Club’s Profile, instead of buying players, always expensive, many times old and useless. Sure a Program takes time to succeed and money to be invested, but it is necessary to do.

Being Johannesburg a place where talents born and growth just organize the structure and give time. Form an Under 20 Team, an Under 17 Team, an Under 15 and 13, start scout though out the Country Under 11 with a follow up where they leave. Form a net of Scouts, and develop a well organized Orlando Pirates Football School all over. Develop the own Method of Coaching, year after year and good and committed players will join the Senior Team soon, or will be sold whenever the financial values overcome the Club’s budget and possibilities.

It is important a good start this coming season, since the past was full of success;

It is recommended to have at this point-time, the maxim unity, keeping the focus, not only the Players, also the Staff, Direction, Supporters and Media. Orlando Pirates is above all and everything.

All members, lead by the Management and the Coach must work in the same direction-target-aim, under strong responsibility and mutual support, like a Family, from where large amount of positive energy will happen to lead the Squad by the example. If happens division immediate decisions should be taken

The level of commitment should be very high, trying, Staff Members and Players to overcome their own limits.

This Basic Programme is important to establish the main points to be worked in the way to succeed in the Season 2011-2012.

Then it is necessary to prepare the General Programme and the Plan of Training to get in the practice the means to rich the target in this Programme established.

Create the Project Supporters of the Future.

To make good omelettes it is necessary to have the best eggs and break them down. To form a team is necessary to have the best players and make them work hard and well, as an unity.

To prepare a Team is alike to build a building. To plan is compulsory.

The Genius Thomas Edison used to say: talent is 99 % transpiration and 1 % inspiration.

Good luck! God bless us!

One for all, all for Orlando Pirates!
